In a world brimming with quick fixes and temporary solutions, it’s easy to fall into the trap of seeing every new method as just another "diet" for our relationships—a temporary regimen promising miraculous results. But Bridging the Gap (BTG) is different. While you will have results faster than you ever imagined, it's not just a fleeting trend or a band-aid solution; it's a lifestyle change that transforms how we live, think, and connect every single day.
The BTG Difference: More Than Just a Quick Fix
When you embark on a typical relationship "diet," you're often given a set of restrictive rules to follow for a limited time. These diets promise instant results but rarely address the underlying issues or offer sustainable solutions. They’re like crash diets—effective for a short period, but ultimately, they leave you where you started, often more frustrated and disillusioned.
BTG, on the other hand, dives deep into the core of your neural and emotional processing. It’s about understanding your Brain Type, identifying where you manually process—whether it’s through logic or emotion—and using this understanding to navigate your relationships and daily interactions. This isn’t something you do for a few weeks and then forget about. It’s a transformative approach that becomes an integral part of your everyday life.
Living the BTG Program: A Daily Practice
At BTG, we don’t just teach you concepts; we provide you with tools that become part of your daily routine. BTG is a framework that helps you make sense of your world every day, 24/7. We live and breathe our program in our own lives and are constantly looking for new ways to apply it. We may not need to use the worksheets every day anymore (they are meant to be training wheels for your brain.) We will still use them every now and again if we truly need to steady ourselves. Here’s how we live our program every day:
1. Embracing the BrainScape: Your BrainScape is like a map of your mind, showing the boxes where you currently process and the color boxes you can access to expand your abilities. By understanding your BrainScape, you gain insight into your patterns and behaviors. Every day, we use this map to navigate our thoughts and emotions, ensuring we are not stuck in black-and-white thinking but are exploring the vibrant possibilities available to us. Whenever we are anything but calm and peaceful, we check ourselves!
2. Utilizing Personal Processing Worksheets: Our worksheets are not one-time activities; they are living documents that help us track our progress, understand our triggers, and develop healthier responses. Whether it’s the Baby Steps Box for managing overwhelm or the Beyond Control Box for letting go of what we can’t change, these worksheets guide us in our daily lives, ensuring we’re always moving forward. These are posted on our shoe closet and pantry so we can reference them when needed!
3. Strengthening Communication with Companions: Communication is the cornerstone of any relationship. Our Communication Companions are tools that facilitate meaningful conversations, helping us articulate our needs and understand those of others. These companions aren’t just for resolving conflicts; they are used every day to build stronger, more empathetic connections with our loved ones. While we may not need them every day, we keep a stack of mini's handy in the game room so we can point the kids at them when they start fighting over the gaming computer. It works wonders! It also comes in handy if I want to request something that may verbally break my husbands brain, putting it on the sheet in writing helps make the request smoother in every aspect.
4. Adopting a Growth Mindset: BTG encourages a growth mindset, where we see challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. This mindset permeates every aspect of our lives, from how we handle stress at work to how we support our children in their unique journeys. It’s about continually evolving and becoming the best version of ourselves. In fact, we cannot sit an have a conversation anymore without hitting the record button because we seem to be discovering more and more anytime we sit and talk to each other. Sometimes I have to tell Sean he's not allowed to talk to me, because I need to work on other things instead of getting an onslaught of new information to catalog and translate for the world!
BTG: A Lifelong Commitment
Unlike a diet, which has a clear start and end date, BTG is a lifelong commitment. It’s about making daily choices that align with your values and goals. It’s about continuously seeking to understand yourself and others better, and using that understanding to create a more fulfilling life. It's about self-reflecting, analyzing, and checking to see where you can improve daily.
By integrating BTG into your daily routine, you’re not just improving your relationships; you’re enhancing every aspect of your life. You’re building resilience, fostering empathy, and cultivating a sense of purpose and connection that goes far beyond the superficial fixes offered by relationship diets.
Breaking the Cycle
In neurodiverse relationships, the challenges can seem insurmountable without the right tools and understanding. BTG breaks the cycle of misunderstanding and frustration by providing a clear framework and practical tools to navigate the complexities of these relationships. It’s not just about surviving; it’s about thriving together, with a deep understanding and appreciation for each other’s unique neuroverses.
Choose BTG, Choose a Better Life
Choosing BTG is choosing a better life. It’s about committing to a path of continuous growth and improvement. It’s about living with intention, understanding your brain, and using that knowledge to build stronger, more meaningful connections.
So, are you ready to make a real, lasting change? Are you ready to transform your life and relationships from the inside out?
